Ottawa to be announced next month

The yet-to-be-named team will play its first season in 2013-14 at Scotiabank Place and may ultimately move to the Civic Centre once renovations to Lansdowne Park are complete.

Can't say I'm surprised by this. And playing at the Civic Centre is a great idea. It's a central venue and will be a lot easier for the team to get crowds there than most other options in the city.

AWESOME! For years now Ottawa has been a hot bed for CIS basketball, now it will be great to see some of the players from that outstanding Carleton program get the chance to continue their careers in the capital!

I will say I have concerns about them playing at Scotiabank Place. It's just too big for the NBL at this point, hopefully the move to the Civic Centre happens in year 2.

That Montreal vs Ottawa rivalry is going to be GREAT!
