NBL looking into possible move to summer

"National Basketball League of Canada teams are putting out feelers to determine if they should try to dribble around their competition with major junior hockey for the almighty entertainment dollar.

In a survey sent to season ticket holders, the Halifax Rainmen and several other NBL clubs are asking — among other questions — whether fans would support a switch to a summer schedule."

I can't speak for anyone other than myself. But I say a move to a Summer league would be a joke and I really hope they arn't seiously considering it.

I understand why they would consider a summer league but I think it would be a mistake. It would backfire on them, people would forget about it and the league would quickly disappear.

I do know that the Lightning owner, Vito Firijia is dead set against it too.

I think a switch to Summer alone would be a disaster. I do however support extending the season to more games - not a lot, just a few extra. I also think that they need to get their All-star game situation straight before they jump to a calendar change.
