Quebec-ers don't want to be called Canadians so....

Most people in that province don't want to associate with the national identity.  This is just a thought, but maybe that's why a team in the Quebec area will never work.  The fans won't support it because it's "Canadian" not just Quebec.  Now if there are any fans on here that might be from that area I would love to hear your take on this.  I'm guessing here, but If this were the Quebec National Basketball League, the arena of the Jazz would have way more fans or maybe the Kebs would still be around.  I don't have any inside info, but, my family is from the Montreal area and there is this "we are from Quebec not Canada" attitude.  What say you?

I'm going to do my best to stay away from the larger issue brought to point here...I think with the recent NDP surge all across Quebec it's quite clear that the issue of sovereignty in Quebec is well on it's way out.

That being said, I do feel that for the NBLC to break into the Quebec market they will need more than one team there. A team in Quebec City OR a team in Montreal might never work out long term. Now teams in Quebec City AND Montreal...now that a different story. Anytime Montreal and Quebec City meet in ANY sport it's an instant and very serious rivalry.

I would even go one step more and take a good hard look at Sherbrooke as well as Trois-Rivières.

I feel very strongly that with the right owners and the right approach we could see 4 NBLC franchises in Quebec in years to come.
