Clagary Crush of the ABA
I wasn't sure where else to put this so...
I keep an eye on the ABA, not because I think it's great basketball or a well run league, I just like rooting for the underdog. I follow a few teams in the league that I THINK are worth following. If they make it great, if not, oh well no skin off my nose. Calgary is one of those start up teams that "seem to be" doing things the right way. They are in the Pacific Northwest Division of the ABA. By looking at the site set up for that division they"seem to be" doing it right. http://www.pacnorthwestaba.com/
Now Calgary will be starting their first year and IF things go well, and I know there are A LOT of things that have to happen, but, if things go well for them and they continue to improve I can see them geographically fitting into the NBLC IN A FEW YEARS.
Is there anyone on these boards that lives in or around that area that can go to a game a report back here with game highlights and let us know what the team is like? Just a thought. Here's the team web site and Facebook Page. If your like me and like to root for the underdog then give them some support. Who knows in a few years they could be an NBLC team.

Link to tv spot for the Crush.
I still think if all goes well, and they can grow a fan base, the Crush will be in the right place at the right time to join the NBLC in a few years.

Check out the Calgary Crush's blog. Over 1200 in attendance for their home games not bad.

Re: Clagary Crush of the ABA
The Crush are "CRUSHING IT" yeah its the ABA, but I think they have some potential to be a future NBLC team. They have a strong fan base and they seem to be marketing themselves well. I know only time will tell but the NBL should keep an eye on this team. In my opinion.

The Crush are 10-0 and it looks like the should go to the playoffs. How they get to Florida is a story in and of itself, but, they are drawing well and have a good record for a first year franchise. NBLC keep these guys in your radar.

The Crush won the Pac Northwest Division. 12-0 on the season. I don't think they will go far in the playoffs, but it's cool they made it in their first year.

Re: Clagary Crush of the ABA
Calgary will be playing Jersey Express in the second round of the "Canada vs Us" I think the Crush are paying for the teams to come in because the ABA has already crowned the Giants the winners. NBL keep your eye on the Crush.

Yeah and I have a friend that lives there and they went to see the last game of the regular season. They had a great time and said the place was packed. Next year he is planning on going to a few games and might buy season tickets.

New video from team practice. I still think the Crush need to be on next years expansion list.

I'd LOVE to see Calgary in the NBLC! It would bring another major city into the league.

I would expect when/if you see expansion to Alberta Calgary and Edmonton would join in the same season. Just a guess.

Where did you hear that about Vancouver? I seem to remember hearing something about the All-Star Game being there next year I think it was. I really can't remember where I read/heard it though.

My friend heard about that in the "Windsor Star". But according to this article we're also thinking about Kitchener, Hamilton and...hey! Kingston! You might like this JJSA: http://www.nblcanada.ca/p/14513/nr/100001-nblwindsor/nbl-canada-expansion-now-open-for-2014-2015-including-western-canada
