2013-14 Playoff format
Ok, because there are ten teams this is my take on how the playoffs should happen...
Top 4 teams in each division make it into the playoffs.
Team 1 plays team 4 best of 3
Team 2 plays team 3 best of 3
Winner of those games go head to head for division championship best of 5 series
Central winner plays Atlantic winner in best of 7 for title. For those of you that need a visual...
Semi-finals Division Finals Championship
London Halifax
Ottawa Saint John
Ottawa Saint John
Mississauga Summerside
Windsor Moncton
Mississauga ______?______ Summerside
Mississauga League Champion Summerside
Teams are just for reference so don't go crazy on me.

Yes, that was how I was kind of imagining the playoffs would go. It's the simplest format.

Called it...I think they read my post...Just kidding. This is almost exactly what I suggested. Instead of best of 3 for division they going with best of 5. Then best of 7 for division title and championship game.

"Also Friday, the owners approved a new playoff format to accommodate the NBL’s expansion to 10 teams.
The top four teams in each division will advance to divisional playoffs.
Divisional semifinals will be best-of-five affairs in a 2-2-1 format and the
divisional finals best-of-seven series with a 2-2-1-1-1 format.
The division winners will advance to a best-of-seven championship final with a 2-3-2 format."

Yes, this will make a very interesting playoffs. However, I don't like how most of the teams will make the playoffs. 8 of 10 teams? Oh well, this should be interesting, and I look forward to the playoffs.
Nice job at callin' it, Evad.

Re: 2013-14 Playoff format
I agree, having 8 of 10 makes it seem as though two teams simply get the shaft. At that rate, they might as well just go with all 10 and do it by rank; but I can appreciate the fact that they are at least looking to accommodate the new teams into the fold.

However, now Montreal that is dropping out this year, this might be a problem...

Re: 2013-14 Playoff format
I hate to say this, but the playoff format for this season is a complete joke. EVERY team in the Atlantic division makes the playoffs. Why even bother playing all those regular season games (and most importantly, what makes anyone want to pay money to see games during the regular season when there is quite literally NOTHING on the line aside from playoff seeding? All I can say is that it better change in 2014-2015.
