NHL Lockout could aid NBLC.
Now that the NHL's lockout is official, there are going to be a ton of people looking for somewhere to spend their sports time & $.
Now's the time for the NBLC teams to strike, while the iron is hot. Double your advertising budgets, even if it means getting $ assistance. This is a great chance to take advantage of a bad situation. Get your names out there, and grab people who might not have given the NBLC a chance before.
Go out and get 'em! All they have to do is catch one game like the Halifax@London 1/7/12 one, and they'll be sold for life.
Signed,
Just a guy who wants this league to [more than] succeed.

I must admit that I didn't think of the NBL in regards to the NHL lockout. But you are 100% right here. I'm not sure that the NBL will benefit greatly from this, as most NBL cities are junior hockey cities already, but it sure can't hurt the NBL a bit!

Yeah, I'd be surprised if we saw a significant increase in attendance because of the NHL lockout, but it certainly wouldn't hurt the league. Like JJSA pointed out, all NBLC teams play out of wither OHL, QMJHL, or AHL cities. And I'm sure those hockey teams will be seeing bigger crowds than usual this winter.

Oh, I completely get that they've got established hockey teams in their cities.
I'm talkin' about reeling in the people from (for example) London that were going to be staying in to watch a Habs game on a week night. Get them outta their houses and cheerin' in the NBLC stands. Those are the people that I'm referring to. They just need a little nudge.
